About Houston L. Braly, MD, FAAOS

Dr. Braly is board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery with subspecialty fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction (Total Joint Replacement). He specializes in hip and knee reconstructive surgery concentrating on primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty.

In addition, he performs total hip replacements through both anterior based muscle sparing and posterior approaches. His practice also encompasses the treatment of developmental disorders of all ages that require joint replacement, lower extremity and periprosthetic fractures, as well as treatment of complex infections involving the joint replacement. Dr. Braly’s practice is centered around the patient with the goal of obtaining the best outcome.

Dr. Braly is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

Growing up in Houston, Dr. Braly spent lot of his free time accompanying his father, also an orthopaedic surgeon, on hospital rounds and surgery. He learned to love anatomy and appreciate the hard work and satisfaction of helping others at an early age, earning his Eagle Scout at age 14.

Dr. Braly is married to his wife of ten years, Kristina, whom he met in medical school and currently practices as an Anesthesiologist. He has two beautiful daughters, Harper and Juliet, whom he adores.

Dr. Braly lives in Houston with his wife, Kristina, an Anesthesiologist, his daughters, Harper and Juliet, and two pint-sized dogs, Gidget & Sadie.

When he’s not taking care of patients, he enjoys spending time at the family ranch in Cuero, Texas, watching Aggie football, and cooking!
